Also known as a "Resort Course", Discover Scuba is a 1 day class! You'll be diving in less than 1 hour! It begins at 8am by checking in and meeting your instructor. Next you'll get sized up for safe, well maintained and great fitting Scuba equipment. Following your fitting you'll watch a 20 minute video that covers some easy to understand and informative information about Scuba Diving physics and terminology. After lunch you'll meet us down at the dock to board the boat for your 2 tank, 2 location dive trip! Your equipment will be set up and ready for you, and your instructor will be diving with you during your dives. Since your instructor will be diving with you for both assistance and saftey, all you need to do is enjoy the dive and swim with the fish!

After the video, you will start your pool session by swimming around using your mask, fins and snorkel for a few minutes. Next your instructor will help you into your equipment and then at your own pace you will get under the water and take your first breaths on SCUBA!

Once you have a little practice breathing under water and become comfortable, your instructor will introduce you to 3 basic safety skills which you will learn and practice. Don't worry, it's easy, you will master them quickly, and build your confidence. Once your skills are complete you'll swim around in the pool for a bit and then end the session by breaking for lunch. This part of the class usually takes about 2 hours.

Don't be surprised if you get out of the water after your first dive and decide to become fully certified. (it happens to almost everyone!) If you chose this path, we offer a discount for all Discover Scuba students to take the Open Water Certification class. Your Discover Scuba counts as Open Water Dive #1, and Pool Session #1 in your Open Water class!
