Congratulations to TONIA SOARES, JOHN HURST, SHEDD KELLEY, and SCOTT MADDOCKS. They are the latest group of students to successfully complete Rainbow Reef’s Instructor Development Course and graduate as PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Instructors. Under the watchful eye of Platinum Course Director TOM WITMER, our fine, young, JEDI OW Instructor warriors successfully navigated the grueling 2 day PADI Instructor Exam involving written examinations, practical skills, open water, and confined water skills/assessments, and oral presentations. Congratulations folks! We wish you continued success as you continue your diving career.

I just wanted to thank ya’ll for this past weekend. I put my video footage to dvd, and it was pretty damn cool! I can’t wait to come back down and do it all over again. You guys have a really good bunch of folks working for you, and that’s what makes the experience. Thanks again, John

Thanks Rainbow Reef,
I should probably leave a testimonial, but this is a bit more intimate. I am very glad I choose your dive shop for my IDC. I loved living in the “Dorm” (Apache House) with Mike, Chris and Kristen (your awesome interns and my house mates). Jerry (a guy who makes you feel right at home as soon as you talk to him, [and his fiancé]) was a man that I think should (will be) be running his own shop. (No insult to RR, just a compliment to Jerryâ??s character). And OWEN FONDA, I will never forget you. I know I had the two best instructors in the Keyâ??s. Tom, I am proud to have studied under you, you made a scary and intimidating situation (The IE) seem simple, and you personal experiences speak for themselves, Thank You for sharing your infinite knowledge with us. But Owen you are and always will be special. You had a handful of practically inexperienced students (at least in a professional sense) that you taught with kindness, humor, and in a professional manor (you didnâ??t shoot any of us, MR. TROOPER) that I will never forget that (not the fact that I wasnâ??t shot but the way you taught me how to dive). I reflect on my time there with excitement and sadness. Excitement in the memories I have of my experience; and sadness that it is now a memory. I will be back, yes, as an instructor, but I will be there just to dive with you guys. Good luck; and Thank You, all.
Shedd Kelley.
P.S. Every time I see the horizon I think of Owen. (Ask Owen he will explain, especially you new students.)
